Decisions, decisions, decisions.

The only thing that has really been on my mind since I got accepted to AUR (YAY!!!) is where to go to school. I've narrowed it down ( I think) to AUR and BYU - but they are pretty much opposites, and I'm torn.

BYU

Price= A lot cheaper than Rome :)

Student body= 30,000+

Location=Smallish college town in Happy Valley

Proximity= Hour and a half drive from home, less if the familia moves like they are thinking about.

Campus size= Very large

Scholarship= One year tuition

Religious Affilliation=LDS

AUR

Price=Expensive + Plane ride

Student Body=500-600 students a semester

Location=Rome, one of the most beautiful and historic cities in the world!

Proximity= A really long flight ( random google search gave me about 18-24 hrs including layover) away from home.

Campus Size=Very small

Scholarship=I don't know yet

Religous Affilliation=None, but Rome is a very Catholic city.

So I really do want to go to Rome - but it's so expensive and it would be really scary! I don't know what I'm going to do. I might go to AUR for a year and then transfer back to BYU or another U.S. college. I want to major in Art History, later go on to get my Ph.D, and later then that work in a museum. My stepdad told me to contact some college level Art History profs, I emailed about 6 or 7 and heard back from three - one voted for Rome, one for BYU, and another told me neither, so it didn't really help that much, lol. What do you think? Where should I go to college? (Lori, you are probably the only one that will read this - so I should just say Lori, where should I go to college? hahahaha)

Time Travel

I really can't wait till graduation. I often think before I go to bed, how I hope I will wake up the next day and it will be June, haha. I am so excited to get out of high school and be done with all the drama and immaturity! Today, for some reason, I have been thinking about how much I hate high school a lot. In all fairness, it probably is my own fault I hate high school so much, I should be more positive about it, and should have gotten more involved - etc.,etc.etc. But I didn't, and I hate it, and I can not wait till it is over!!! Ha, I still haven't decided where I want to go to college - all the places I'm still considering though I will be really excited about going to, when I make my final decision. What I really can't wait for though -is to start working. I can't wait till I have my PhD, and am curating at a museum! I can't wait to get out of Utah and be living in an awesome big city with an awesome museum! Ah, I really can not wait!! So since I do not know of any time travel available, I guess I will have to wait out the next 86 days till graduation. Wish me luck! ha.

Where in the world

Today, someone in one of my classes was talking about going to Spain this summer, to study abroad. It got me thinking of how much I love Spain! I would definitely love to live in Spain someday, maybe an internship at the Prado? That would be too, too cool!!! I'm jealous of this boy! But thinking about Spain, and how I hope to someday live there has gotten me thinking of places I would love to live, just for a few months, to study abroad for a semester or do a summer internship - I want to make a list of these places. And if I don't establish a permanent address in all these places, I at least want to visit them someday! :)

  • Madrid,Spain

  • Rome,Italy

  • Paris,France

  • London, England

  • New York City, New York

  • Boston, Massachussetts

  • Washington D.C.

  • Chicago, Illinois

  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

  • Florence, Italy

hmmm I know there has got to be some more, but those are the big ones! And all that I can think of right now.
