Strive to be good.
Sandra Day O' Connor is fast becoming one of my heroes. As the first woman to ever be a Supreme Court Justice, she has to be tough. The other night I had the opportunity to listen to a speech she gave to the Rueben J. Clark Law Society (I'm not sure I spelled that right :/) about being an ethical lawyer. It really got me thinking, she talked about how you can't just avoid doing bad - you have to strive to do good. I thought it applied to much more than just lawyers. She ended with this quote and I really liked it - it's by John Wesley.
"Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”
